The decision about how to sell your home
seems to get more complicated every day. In a "buyer's market",
which is what we currently have in Northeast Florida, many homeowners
wonder if they can afford to pay a real estate commission to sell their
home.
Statistically, a little less than 10% of owners who try to sell without
professional assistance are successful. And homes sold by owner average
about 11% lower in price than those sold through a full service real
estate brokerage. If you want to know more about selling on your own,

Another possibility is hiring what is called a "discount broker"
or MLS broker. They advertise lower than average (there are no industry
fixed rates by law) commissions or flat fees in exchange for you doing
virtually all of the work - and that's not always disclosed before you sign an
agreement. In real estate, as in most things, you usually get what you pay
for.
Hiring a full time, full service professional will almost always result in
more money in your pocket and less emotional stress - an invaluable
benefit. Agents and their companies vary significantly, just like any
other business. Look for the right person first, then the services they
offer and LAST, the prices they charge. To learn more click on HOW TO CHOOSE A LISTING
AGENT at the right on this page. |
